I had the privilege of participating in Dr. Vikas’s one-to-one CASC sessions, and I must say, it was an invaluable experience. Dr. Vikas’s approach prioritized task orientation, ensuring that every session was focused and productive. What stood out the most was his keen ability to cater to the specific needs of each candidate, tailoring the sessions accordingly. He covered all key aspects of the stations comprehensively, leaving no stone unturned.
Moreover, Dr. Vikas made it evident that the candidates’ success was his top priority, going above and beyond to provide personalized support and guidance. Thanks to his expertise and dedication, I felt prepared to excel in the CASC exams.

I would highly recommend participating in the CASC preparation course with Dr Swarup. The sessions are a great way to help prepare and make mistakes in a safe environment. Dr Swarup’s experience and expertise in the area, as a CASC examiner means he is able to provide up to date and relevant feedback. Over the course of the sessions, we were able to cover the majority of the sub specialties and he kindly arranged a face-to-face session to go over the physical examinations. It is very helpful to attend this as well as practicing in usual groups with peers as Dr Swarup is able to offer a fresh perspective on performance. He is also able to dispel many of the myths about the CASC examination and give you an idea of how things work on the day. It was very helpful and much appreciated.

I sat the MRCPsych CASC exam in September 2025 and was successful!
I initially practised in a small group of three to four colleagues, and later in a pair closer to the exam. CASC Secrets was one of the key resources I used during my preparation, alongside other materials such as the Maudsley textbook. Of all the resources I tried, CASC Secrets stood out as the most comprehensive. No other single resource offers such a wide range of practice scenarios, particularly for the sub-specialties such as Forensic Psychiatry, Learning Disability, and Perinatal Psychiatry – which were often lacking in our textbooks. All but one of the stations in my exam (which was a new one for my cohort) were covered in CASC Secrets. The exemplar scripts in CASC Secrets are helpful for those new to practice and are a good guide for establishing a structure and getting started with role-plays, while the tips section helped refine my approach to reflect what examiners are looking for.
Another major strength of the book is that it draws on the author’s extensive experience as a CASC examiner, which shines through in the practical advice and exam-focused guidance throughout. Overall, CASC Secrets was an excellent and highly effective resource that played a key role in my success. I would strongly recommend it to anyone preparing for the CASC.
